Alton AT01101 Portable Air Compressor
Featuring a motor and air pump sitting atop a horizontal hotdog tank, the Alton AT01101 Portable Air Compressor is a compact machine that is easy to carry from one work area to the next or for storage.
The air compressor is powered by a powerful brush motor. It is oil-free and thus it does not require exhaustive or meticulous maintenance. Attached to the air pump via a direct drive, there are no belts or chains to maintain, and, perhaps more important, there is minimal loss of torque from the motor to the air pump.
The air pump is a single stage type. Like the motor, it is also oil-free and thus low-maintenance, and it starts quickly even in cold weather conditions. It is capable of compressing air at pressures between 70 to 100 PSI that is stored in the 2-gallon tank. Air flows at a rate of 1.0 CFM at 40 PSI or 0.7 CFM at 90 PSI.
Both the motor and air pump are encased in a plastic shroud to protect them from dust and dirt, and to protect users from accidentally touching them and burning themselves while they are running.
With these capabilities and features, the Alton AT01101 Portable Air Compressor is ideal for air brushing; inflating tires, beds, rafts, or other inflatable devices; and powering pinners, staplers, or low-pressure brad nailers. The fact that the pump is oil-free makes is especially suited for air brushing.
The air compressor is equipped with two easy-to-read gauges –one indicating the pressure of air inside the tank and another that of released air. Below the latter is the release control knob. Fastened to the shroud is a padded flip-up handle that makes carrying the machine convenient.
The compressor weighs 18 pounds, and it measures 15.75 x 9.25 x 16.14, all in inches.
