DeWalt Air Compressor Model D55151

A 2.5 horsepower motor and a durable pump make the DeWalt Air Compressor Model D55151 a powerful equipment capable of delivering 3.2 CFM at 100 PSI. It has two hotdog tanks with one stacked on top of the other. These have a capacity of four gallons.
The two-pole induction motor is powered by 120-volt electric current, and has a 14 amp draw. It has an overload protection feature that eliminates, or at least minimizes, damage. Starting it in cold weather is facilitated by dual soft-start valves.
The pump is constructed with a durable cast iron cylinder. It has a maximum speed of 3,400 RPM which allows it to fill the tanks with compressed air quickly. It is lubricated with oil which not only reduces friction among the piston, crankshaft, bearings, and other moving parts, but also helps absorb noise generated by its operation. With a cooler operation, it can be expected to last even after extended use.
The motor and pump are linked via direct drive. There are no chains, belts, or gearboxes between the two. This means that no power is lost in these intervening connections. And because of the reduction in moving parts, noise is also reduced. Further, with lesser moving parts, there are also lesser parts that are subject to wear and tear.
A gauge indicating the pressure of air in the tanks is mounted on the tank itself. Another gauge shows the pressure of the air delivered to your tools. This is attached to the 0.375-inch regulator.
The DeWalt Air Compressor Model D55151 is designed to be carried. It has a handle bar with a rubber grip for a non-slip hold. With a weight of approximately 53 pounds, it should not be too heavy to move around. Neither is it too bulky as it measures 18.5″ W x 15″ D x 16.75″ H.
