How to Properly Start an Air Compressor

Air compressors help us in a variety of jobs. Like any other tool and equipment, it is best to know everything about it to prevent any mishaps and accidents. Before using an air compressor, make sure to read the safety manual.

If it is your first time to use an air compressor, it is essential that you know how to start it properly. For plugging in the unit, make sure that your air compressor is completely shut off by checking that the switch is in the off position. Also turn the regulator knob counterclockwise so that no air will come out as soon as you turn it on. The pressure gauge should read zero.

After doing all the checks, you can plug in the compressor into an electrical outlet and turn it on. You will notice that there will be loud air noise coming out, this means that the tank is empty and the cold start valves are releasing air from the compressor lines. The same loud noise will also be heard when the unit shuts off, so this is not something to be alarmed about.

To begin working with your air compressor, connect your hose and adjust the regulator to your desired air pressure. You can now begin using your air compressor.
