Ingersoll Rand SS3L3 Vertical Compressor

The design of the Ingersoll Rand SS3L3 Vertical Compressor gives it an industrial look that is more at home in big factories, garages, and construction sites rather than in a DIYer’s home. Indeed, with its power and durability, the SS3L3 compressor can compare with its bigger cousins. The compressor delivers 10.3 CFM at 135 PSI, but this increases to 11.3 CFM when pressure is reduced to 90 PSI.
The air pump is a single-stage compressor, which means that compressed air is delivered to the tank for storage and eventual use after one cycle of its piston. Constructed with durable cast iron, the pump is expected to have a long service life. This is further assured with its splash oil lubrication system that keeps internal temperature down. This is because the oil minimizes friction among the air pumps’ moving parts and also absorbs some of the heat. Apart from this, it also absorbs noise generated by the pump.
A single-phase three-horsepower motor drives the air pump using a pulley and belt drive system. To prevent accidental contact with the spinning pulley and belt, they are enclosed in a grilled casing. Equipped with a thermal overload protection system, the machine automatically shuts down in case of overheating, and will not start again unless manually switched. The motor itself draws its power from a standard 230-Volt, 30-ampere electric household outlet. This means that you can safely work with the compressor inside your garage, as it does not emit toxic fumes from burning fuels.
Compressed air from the tanks can be drawn through an air NPT outlet with a diameter of 3/8 inch. With the maximum operating pressure of the Ingersoll Rand SS3L3 Vertical Compressor at 135 PSI, it can be used for a wide range of applications from tire inflation to die grinding, and everything else in between.
The vertical compressor stands 66 inches high, with a width of 23 inches and depth of 20. It weighs 300 lbs.
