Makita MAC5200 Air Compressor

MAC5200 refers to the 5.2-gallon tank capacity of the Makita MAC5200 Air Compressor. This tank can sustain an operating pressure of 145 PSI. It can deliver an airflow of 6.9 CFM at 40 PSI, and 6.5 CFM at 90 PSI.
A 3.0-horsepower motor with a thermal overload protector runs the compressor’s pump. In the event that it overheats for any reason, the thermal protector automatically shuts it off.
The pump is constructed out of cast iron for increased durability and strength that are necessary to withstand tough job conditions. It has a bore of 47 mm and a stroke of 44 mm which result in increased compression, a quicker recovery, and less noise. Air intake is increased by an automotive-style filter which also assures clean and dry air for greater efficiency.
The pump is oil lubricated to keep the piston, crankshaft, bearings, and other moving parts sliding smoothly alongside each other. The oil also helps seal minute spaces in between the piston and the cylinder walls. Further, friction is reduced keeping pumping operations cool and reducing wear and tear.
For easy monitoring of oil levels, a prominently displayed oil sight glass is included. Completing this is a conveniently-located oil drain that makes changing pump oil a breeze. Draining the air tank is equally easy as this is done with ball valve with a lever handle instead of the standard petcock.
The Makita MAC5200 Air Compressor in constructed with a roll-cage design for protection of its parts. It is equipped with two tires and a steering handle to facilitate transfers. The handle folds when not in use for easier storage. It also has tool hangers, storage area for air fittings and accessories, and an air hose wrap.
The MAC5200 has measurements of 29″ x 19″ x 19.5″, and it weighs 88 pounds.
